Default safe place to park?

Me and another guy were going to load our bikes in my truck and drive south from upstate NY to N orSC till it's warm enough to ride the rest of the way to Fla, La, Miss etc. A week or two trip- then load back into the truck for the return. At this time of year snow could screw up plans real quick. Any advice on safe places to leave the truck for a couple weeks?(other than friends or relatives-don't have any ) Thankss

Long term parking at an airport?
Usually they are somewhat secured?
Just a thought.

I'd drive to where you find it warm enough to drop the truck and find an RV storage facility. Offer the person there a few bucks to leave it there for a week or two, FIL does this when he comes up this way in the summer, cause there's no place to park his RV/trailer in my subdivision(HOA rules)usually costs him $20 a week.

Depending on where you work or what you do for a living, is there an afilliate or union hall down that way that will allow you to use some parking? Maybe someone on the forum here will offer up some space after reading your post. A mini storage yard might be an option also, most of them are gated.

Good Luck and that sounds like an excellent plan. Post some pics in the road trips section if you get time.

+1 On the RV/Mini Storage parking.
Find a secured mini storage, some have on site caretakers, are well lighted and have CCTV security. You may have to do this in advance, and find several along the way, you'll not know, where the winter weather is going to end. You could line up, a southernmost alternate, just in case bad weather is wide spread.

+1 on the RV or ministorage. Even if you have to buy the whole month it's usually a good price.

Surely there is somebody in those states that will speak up and offer you to park at their house. If you need to park in Knoxville Tn , you could leave it at my house. But it is colder than a well diggers butt here right now.

You might also call a HD shop and ask them for help.
