Default How loud to go?

I'm wanting to install V & H Pro pipes on my Softail Deluxe. How loud will they be? What about the SE ll slip on's, how do they compare to the V&H's for sound and performance? Thanks.

Loud, loud, loud. That's great if that's what you want. I went SE slip ons because I like my hearing, and it still sounds like a Harley should.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

I've had the V&H Bigshots and currently have a set of Sideshots on my Superglide. Both are much louder than stock, not "call the police" loud unless you really wind it out, but loud enough to know that you're coming. I leave home for work before 6:00 a.m. and have never had a neighbor complain, but they're mostly still asleep at that hour.

I have Big Radius and they are much louder than SE pipes. Not illegal unless you go nuts with the throttle

Go down to your dealer and hang out a while. You have to listen for yourself to know for sure what you want.

Depends on how much regard you have for your neighbors, proximity, etc. If you don't have to worry about disturbing anyone, I'd go as loud as possible. I had a thunderheader put on my bike. It's actually a little louder than I'd like- no one has ever complained, but I don't like coming back into the apartment complex parking garage late at night. It sets off car alarms. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good and gets some good performance, just a little louder than I'd like.
