Default leaking fuel line

I had the tank off my Deuce then re-installed.
The fuel line is the quick connect type and went back together fine. At first it seeped fuel but eventually stopped. Today, while I was cleaning the bike, I bumped it and it started leaking again. WTF. Anyone run into this? It just seeps and starts to drip every 10 seconds or so. I disconnected the line and put it back in and it still seeps. It seeps even when its not under pressure. I see an o ring in the check valve on the tank and another in the fuel line, both look good.

lookin good ain't always sealing correctly...

Could be hardened and possibly shrunk. If they leak, change the o-rings. If they still leak, change the fittings and o-rings.

I doubt H-D is only going to sell just the o-rings. I most likely am going to have to buy the entire fuel line and possibly the check valve that screws into the bottom of the tank.

Haven't done it myself, but I have seen other threads (one just last week if I remember correctly) that spoke of changing the o-rings in those fittings...

Only guess I have is that the disconnect isn't seating all the way. Did you pull down on it to see if it's got a solid connection.

Seems odd that the o rings would have worn out already.

I will check and see if they sell the o-rings. That will be great if they do.

Yes, it is in right and seated. I even pulled if off then back on a few times. Its in there. I agree, 07 with 2,700 miles should not have bad o-rings, but it sure seems like thats what it has to be.

Those plastic quick connect will brake fast. Check it for your leak. Replace them with steel connection with a (Dorman 800-120).

Fixed it. It was the first o-ring in the quick connect on the tank. Got some info from n8dc on the oring and he was dead on. The o-ring is -905. Took about 15 minutes from start to finish. When I got the old one out I could see a little chunk out of it.
