Wear a helmet when I want to and the choice should be mine. I am glad I live in a helmet optional state with requirements.

You cannot count the 270 replies in a two days in the 883 vs 1200 thread because about 200 of those replies were by the same person the same day.

 

Used to *always* wear a helmet. Found I much prefer not wearing a helmet. Almost never wear one now.

 

Cold Weather, or during night time rides when the bugs are out in force.

 

If the helmet free state has no dogs, I might take the helmet off.The state below mine is a helmet free state and I always ride with a helmet. Ever since I saw the helmet that saved a friends life after he hit a dog that ran out in front of him going about 40 mph, I decided I will always wear one. But then I like dogs and if the state has none, don't think I will ride there anyway.

 

I usually wear one, but I like having the option of not wearing if I don't want to.

 

dont have to wear one, and dont. Dont like them, but one big reason is my head is so damn big. I have measured it and emailed carbon fiber companies, they respond back... sorry cant help you.
