Don't get me wrong, those schools teach you stuff you've never even heard of or thought about before, but the amount of knowledge overpowers the entry level jobs and it goes to waste. I get asked questions by the other techs and even the manager about things since they crammed so much knowledge into my head.

Stay agressive and stay positive, you will land on your feet, just a bad economy right now. things will work themselves out its just takin a little longer this time. Like said earlier go visit shops and go back in a month, the more they see ya the better.

I am guessing ya live in Fla by your screen name, go over to the Fla Crew section and introduce yourself. Ya never know who stops in there.

I was thinking seriously about going to MMI when I retire, since mechanics at the top generally make around 14 bucks an hour, I would need something to supplement my income, since I would start at the bottom at around 7.50 an hour. I figure, it would be fun to do when I retire, but have too many bills to do it now. Only 10 more years.

Lets hope the economy comes back so that there are more dealers needing help. Get some experience doing something with your hands so you can get a reference when a position does come along.
