internal wiring
#2
Pros- Cleans up the wire look, not a ton of zip ties etc
Cons- If you have a wiring issue or a short you have to remove bars run wires out etc etc. Just a pain
I just installed my apes with internal wiring. I ran the housing wires internally. Everything else had to be ran externally. Kept turn signals external because I plan on relocating them later

Here are some tips I picked up working on mine.
It's easier to do with the bars OFF the bike and on a table or bench. Make a diagram and mark each wire and color for each hole in the connector. Double check that the holes in the bars are smooth and free of burrs or sharp edges. This will reduce the risk of cutting through the insulation from vibration and grounding a wire out. Use a shopvac to pull multiple strands of string or fishing line through the bars which you will use to pull the wires through. Coat the wires with baby powder and then dump a bit more into the bars. This will reduce friction and ease the pulling. Pull the wires through one at a time. If you have a two piece handlbar clamp, consider going to a single piece.
I'm sure others have tips that worked for them.
Good luck.

I covered the wires with heat shrink like others said but doubled the heat shrink where the wires passed through the holes in the bars. Not difficult at all just be sure to match the wires properly.
