The key is the colors of the wires coming out of the plug.

It is the electrical connection for an external computer to talk to the computer on the bike and vice versa.

A TTS Mater Tune cable uses this connector to connect your Personal Computer (with TTS Software installed) to the ECU. This way your PC can be used to read a lot of the ECU's Input and Output data and some of it's programing. It also allows you to reprogram the ECU to a certain degree.

If you purchase Harley-Davidson's "Code Master" P/N32312-10 it plugs into this connector and you can use it to read any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) that the ECU has stored and/or to clear any DTC's that may be stored in the memory of the ECU.

The Harley-Davidson Dealer also has a PC based diagnostic tool that allows them to completely replace the ECU's Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM) called the SERT by most folks.
....unless it's a Magnetti - Marelli ECM....at least that was my experience. The dealer computers can't seem to make a good data connection to the unit in my '99 Ultra through that little plug.

The best thing to do is jumper the the pins in the plug , turn the battery on and see what smokes . Thats what it's for

Diagnostics plug. My dealer plugged right into it to reset my ECM. Tail light connection & run/turn/brake option is on the opposite side.
