Crashed on the race track in the 80's. So far so good on regular asphalt!!

 

Crash wasn't bad, but I still ended up with a rod and four pins in my leg. Doctor said if I had any meat on my bones I wouldn't have broken a thing. Couldn't ride for 4 months. It was awful. I don't tailgate anymore.

 

I dont know why someone would call themselfs a biker and then use the word CRASH!
I am 72 yrs young and rideing strong and I have lost some good friends over the yrs of riding. some thier fault some not. It seems that some of you folks on this fourm like the word CRASH very much. crash bars, have you crashed, I crashed, the word crash is not or never used by anyone that has been involved with Harleys over the years. The word crash is very offensive to a lot of us folks.

T-boned a truck doing 50mph. 42 plates and rivets in my face (eye socket and cheekbone), and split my tibia down the middle. on crutches for 4 months (still on crutches when I went to the dealer to get a new bike).

I've been taken out twice in the past 21 years. Both times by a woman driver not paying attention. I hope those are the only ones I ever have to report

 

Dirt riding, down lots of times, fractures, but just once (at speed) on the street:

Went down @ 55 mph when a flatbed truck I was passing made a sudden left turn. Wearing helmet, leather jacket, gloves, boots, jeans--the jeans weren't enough.

 

Been down 3 times over the last 41 years, never seriously though. I walked away from all three with just some light road rash; lucky I guess.

Almost 6 month ago. Car turned left in front of me and broke my hip and pelvis. Still waiting for my bike to get finished.
