Default What's the seat strap for?

There is a strap across the pillion seat between the rider seat and the passenger. Is that supposed to be for a hang on strap? A waste of money and time if that is the purpose.

That's for the passenger to hold on to.

Yep its supposed to be for the passenger to hang on to. It does make a good place to hold gloves while fueling up.

For tucking the arm of my sunglasses under while getting fuel before the ride. ...or holding that part of the pillion in place, when lining it up to put on?

Supposed to be for the passenger to hold onto. I always remove mine, it makes taking off the seat easier

It is there to make it a PITA to remove the seat. That is why (for most folks anyway) it is in the trash can.

I did once actually see some rocket scientist trying to peddle his on ebay. Seriously???

One of the first things I take off when I bring home a new bike. The little fork reflectors are next.

Must be looks it certainly would not be much security for the passenger with the throttle in my hand.
