What's the seat strap for?

When I bought my bike (used Ultra Classic) it didn't have a seat screw. Never put one
on. Don't have a seat strap either. Seat never comes off while riding it,
hasn't fallen off while parked either. I guess the tour pack keeps it on.
I have a seat strap hanging in my shed though.

Man, everybody missed it. Th strap is for sticking your feet under while standing on your bike so it you fall it will drag you to where it stops. Giddy-up.

Mine's in the "take off parts pile", which consists of the sissybar/rack, stock A/C, stock pegs, etc.

That strap is there so HD can charge you more money. Didn't you know HD stands for Heavy Dollars!!!!!

Just like there needs to be "X" number of inches between your turn-signals, there has to be a grab-bar or strap for the passenger. Exciting crap.
