When I swapped seats on my Sportster I never put it on. On my Road King I leave it on, it's handy for putting my gloves, hat or sunglasses there when parking my bike, stopping, gassing up.

I know I wouldn't trust a passenger to hang out to it as their only form of hanging on. But I'm pretty sure it is required by law.

It's caled a "strap-on"...I'll let you guess the rest. No dudes allowed...

Mine stays on bike - not really in the way & doesn't bother me (like it seems to w/others).

Harley removed the chrome passenger grab rail from the Ultra Classic and replaced it with a vinly strap. The chrome grab rail is offered in the P&A catalog, but only for models without rear speakers. Makes no sense.

As you can clearly see.... the strap serves little purpose.

In California I think it's a state law that if the bike has a passanger seat the passenger has to have something to hold on to, a seat strap or hand rails. This might also be a Federal DOT standard. Seat straps are cheaper, and I didn't say it was a good law.

Yeah, I'm sure those suckers go like hot cakes on ebay. Probably about as fast as all the other take off crap that they can't give away on there.

Sorry dude, but my time is worth something.

1) Take picture of said item
2) Upload pic and list item on ebay
3) Moniter auction and answer questions
4) Respond to and leave feedback for winning bidder (if any)
5) Package item and drive to Post Office or UPS facility

= $5 bucks less Paypal charges and listing fees

No thanks

i agree if i can't make $30 after shipping i don't bother putting it on ebay. for crap like that i wait until it accumulates and make it a pot luck and put it on craigslist, $50.00 takes it all...

I always take mine off. If the bike goes to the dealer for any kind of service it always comes back with a new one, no charge. "We have to, gov't regulations" I'm told. Being in California I assumed it was the state being it's usual nanny self.
