Tell them the gas, oil, filter, brake fluid, are already paid for and they need to add them and not subtract.

Just like any vehicle dealership, they're going to figure out any way they can to get a few more bucks on the bottom line.
Stick to your guns and they'll probably take it off.

Yesterday I traded in my 2009 FLHR for a 2011 FLHP (103, tach, 16" apes - I couldn't resist).
I only went in with the wife to scope out what we might want to use the 30% off coupon for. No intention of buying a bike.
Anyway, the dealer gave me what I thought was a decent trade in allowance for my 2009. But then he subtracted $326 for the cost of an oil change and rear brakes to get the 2009 ready for resale.
I've never heard of such a thing, so...
Is it normal for the dealer to make you pay to get your trade ready for resale???

This one gets my vote. I would tell them this is moronic. If they decided they gave you too much for the bike they should just admit it.

I think the dealer should have told you what value they were going to give your trade in and stuck with it. If they felt your bike was worth $326 less because of issues, then they should have deducted that off the trade in value. Sounds kind of low rent to me.

You negotiate a price, and then at the last minute they start trying to justify changes (in their favor) to the negotiated deal. They should have told you during the negotiation of the deal rather than try to tack it on after you thought the terms were finalized.
If it had been me I would have told them to either stick to the already negotiated deal or give you your bike back and walk away from the deal. Dealers only get away with that nonsense because customers (in this case you) let them get away with it.

Only if you let him get by with it. If you would have got up an walked, I bet you would not have made the exit before he caved on the idea.
