High gas prices? Don't forget, Christmas is the time for giving... and giving... and giving...

 

We get to pay more per gallon. Get less mpg's cause of 10% ethenol. So we get to buy more. Sounds like the American way!

 

The price of crude oil increased as soon as the Fed. announced an increase in the money supply, and the price at the gas pump jumped 10-15% (in my area) a few days later.

 

The reason (excuse) we always get here this time of year is that the refineries are switching from summer blends to winter blends, and vice-a-versa in the spring. Why that makes the price go up in both the spring and fall is still a ystery.

 

To be honest i,m not much up on the subject but i did find this...
Most European countries have chosen for a mixture of 5.75% ethanol with petrol in order to protect older vehicles. Even the UK has started to introduce this fuel across most of its petrol stations ......also there is an EU directive that states all petrol must include between 5 and 10% ethenol by 2013.
