battery tenders ????
here is my situation... i have a road king i ride regularly. i also have a knuck bobber, a 47 indian cheif and two modified cushmans that aren't ridden often enough to keep the batteries up. i have seen these battery tenders advertised but know nothing about them. the prices are all over the place and several different brands offered. i can't see $50.oo or better for each bike, but northern tool offers one for $80 + that will handle four bateries. that sounds like the best way to go. how about some input from those who have used these devices.

I don't know anybody that has the multi battery tender, but my brother keeps his 86 Wide Glide in a non heated garage. If it gets below freezing he plugs it in and it fires right up after sitting for a week or two. He paid about 30 bucks for it at walmart, but you have to be careful some or chargers and some are tenders.

tender threads pop up about every couple of weeks or so..... they are a must if the car/truck/bike isn't used on a regular basis.
one that can handle all of your toys sounds like a good deal.

Walmart is selling a Schumacher brand tender for $20, Sears has a similar one that can be bought on sale for about $23. The Sears unit has a three year warranty. Either one would work good.
As to a one does all system, maybe I am different but I prefer to have a tender for each unit. That way should the unit fail only one battery is affected. If you go with the Walmart units your cost would be the same.

I'm happy with my Battery Tender jr.
The leads they give you to hard wire to the battery come in handy as a power source. Cut the spare leads they give you, splice them onto a cigarette lighter, and use it to charge your cell phone/iPhone/Navigation.

Whew...those multi tenders are PRICEY. I wonder if you could get away with jumper wires in parallel (positive to positive - negative to negative) to another battery from a single tender. Reduced amperage won't hurt a battery, just take longer to get to a full state of charge. Once it gets to the float phase of operation what difference does it make...especially for winter storage?
