He wont have to tell them how he did it ... they will ask their IT guys and oif they are worth the money they are paid, they already know ;)
I've been in IT for around 10 years now. Current company does not care what the users do so long as it is not offensive and not consuming their whole day. Thats the executives decision and I respect their wishes. Only thing I have suggested is limiting streaming as we have a satellite location connected via a point-to-point and when they stream Pandora and such ... it just clogs up their line to the main locations servers.
Last company had an ... odd policy. It was kind of a "turn a blind eye" policy. Until someone went overboard, then IT was harassed that we need filters, etc. I started doing weekly or monthly reports on what sites specific users were visiting at what times for how long, etc. This was ONLY per managers request.
Make nice with the IT guys. We can usually help you out

Okay, I am stupid when it comes to the computers and all, but if I bring in my own lap top and plug it into their phone jack hooked to the company server or use my wi fi using their router system then can't they still see what sites I check out and how long I am on? Plus can they get info from my puter when it is plugged in? Questions I always wondered about and thought this might be a good time to ask being some IT dudes are here.
