There have been many studies on how much time is wasted on the 'net; inasmuch as employees smoking. Employers don't like pissing THEIR money away. Just saying.

crap like this is why i never ever spent my lunch or break times at my desk (when i was working for someone else)

and to those of you who don't understand people taking lunch at 3:00 ... must be nice to have a job where the boss or customer never needs anything right now ! never mind that it's lunch time

If I employed people who were willing to work through their lunch break, making me money after all, then I wouldn't mind the odd few minutes 'wasted' online, as long as the job got done.

Far better than annoying them and making them less-productive.

His dick, his dollar so he can do as he pleases with his internet that he pays for as the boss/owner. If it pisses you off that bad quit and pony up the cash to start and keep running your own business. Sorry to sound harsh, but as a business owner myself I have little patience for employees that think they run the company and set the rules when in fact they have never had to concern themselves with making payroll and keeping a business going.

As long as it's on your lunch break, just use a proxy server. There's quite a few options to hide your surfing activity.

I consider myself to be very lucky in this respect. I work for the local University, so they don't block anything to anyone as far as I know.
Now maybe if a student had a thing for ****, they probably would. Ida know bout that and don't wish to find out! Lol

Same here Will..
Factory where I worked until the last 10 yrs or so a radio wasn't even allow in the shop..

Now that they do allow them we had to set up rules... Some people wanted County, others wanted R&R/Rap, so they keep bringing in bigger speakers to out do each other till we had to set up max volume standards.

I'm lucky, my boss and I both surf and he even plays flash games on the Internet between trouble tickets. But we also use the Internet as a tool to do our job researching issues and finding solutions to various problems.
