Default Rear tire spins in neutral

Never noticed while riding but yesterday I had the bike
(2010 Heritage) up on a lift and noticed that the rear tire spun (slowly) with the bike in neutral The tire stops spinning if I pull in the clutch. Is this common? More importantly is it potentially harmful to the engine?

Thanks,

Wouldn't worry about it. Most will do that. As long as you can stop it with your hand it should be fine.

The drag on the trans fluid agaainst the gears will cause this. Nothing to worry about

That is a huge problem, and it is causing undue wear on your gears, BUT I happen to be in the position to sell you a kit that I have been developing that will totally stop your wheel from spinning with the transmission in neutral. Just send me $3999.95, and I will over night the kit. I prefer cash!

Better send it to me and I will install a Jap inline4 for you. You can thank me later when your bike has 200hp

ever lift the front of your lawn mower and see the wheels turning just from the vibration..the wheel turns just from the trans shafts/gears turning on the bearings agenst each other..nothing to worry about..

Changing to a halogen headlight will cure this.
