Default sissy bar bag recommendations

I know there are tons of options. My wife and I are going to be taking a trip to Utah from Texas in may. I've got a sundown seat with a detachable sissy bar/luggage rack. Bike is an 07 dyna street bob. I want a bag that will hold as much luggage as possible and is water proof. I don't have saddle bags. Also I don't want to spend a ton of money but will spend a little more if I have to to get what I want. thanks, nathan

You may wanna look into saddlebags. I don't know if a sissybar bag will give enough for you and the lady. I've both, soft side bags and sissy bag, on my softail and they fill rather quick. At least you have till May to look into them.

I have a T-Bags Route 66 bag. Great bag and holds a lot.

T-Bag on sissy-bar + leather throw-overs ++.

Keep the weight as low as possible.

Been looking at Saddleman also for same application. Look like very good quality, also quite a bit cheaper than T-Bags.

I've been looking for one of these. Be careful of depth of bag if using it behind driver seat without rack and with DRIVER backrest. Some are too deep to fit. Also, I checked them out at Reno Street Vibrations. Looks like they are all made in China now--even the name brand ones. What pisses me off is that the prices aren't any lower than last year, when they were made here. I'm not anti-Chinese, but I don't want to pay the same for a cheaper to manufacture product. Anyone have any suggestions for a bag made here or EU?

I've got one of those saddleman bags . .I think it's 3500 cubic inches with an optional roll bag on top. I've used it on a few long trips and rode with it in the rain (with rain bag deployed) and I'm pretty darn happy with it. It's nice in that it's got a frame in it and you can unzip both sides to access the contents.

Here's a link to it:

Just tell the wife she's allowed one pair of jeans, 2 t-shirts and all the lingere she wants to bring.

Have a good one,
Dave

Check out the T-Bags site and go to close outs. I got a great deal on a bag a few years ago.

I've got a Saddleman and it works good. I used it on a 16,000 mile trip recently and it performed flawlessly. Just had to make sure the rain cover was on good cause it will leak like a sieve in anything more than a shower if the cover isn't covering everything.
