another idea for staying warm

Hey, spent the night in Springfield about a week ago on my ride back from Kansas. Wish I'd had know you were from there. Would have enjoyed meeting a HDF friend. Stayed at the Super 8 I think it was, near that BBQ place.

The versions of those that HD sells come with instructions to not use them above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The engines don't mind so much at those temperatures, and the wind blocking sure is nice for the rider's shins and knees. I started using them in January of 1995 on my first FLHR, and keep a set in the bottom of my left saddlebag in the spring and fall just in case. Before that I either did without (young and dumb and... you know the rest...) or had full fairings before I realized I really don't like having a fairing.

Just made the test run with these things.....46 degrees. Decided not wear any extra gear from the waist down (just jeans and tennis shoes).
Took off, thought not so bad. No wind, feet weren't getting cold, lot less breeze on the legs. Figured might as well ride her around a little till it got up to temp, and then head back home. Noticed something really cool. Once the engine warmed up, and I had a nice very warm breeze hitting my legs when the bike was moving.
These have to be one of the best things I've ever bought for any of my bikes. Definatley will make the cold a lot less of a factor now.
