Talking Fuel Moto: Kudos as usual (pics)

When I went to clean my air filter on Tuesday I found that there were cracks around where the air cleaner cover attaches to the air cleaner element. I'm still not sure what caused the cracks as I used a torque wrench on install and tightened everything to spec.

Anyway, I called Full Moto on Tuesday afternoon, explained what I found, they took my name and address and I received my new air cleaner element today. The process was amazingly painless and quick. Thanks again Fuel Moto!

By the way, has anyone else ever experienced anything like this with their air cleaner? If so, what was found to be the cause?

Even though you used a torque wrench it still looks over tightened. I'd try another torque wrench on the new filter.

Use locktite, lose the torque wrench. That was overtightened.

Looks like all the holes in that filter had some serious torque applied to them. As was said, lose the torque wrench when tightening these and use some loctite.
