Default Grasshopper Driver's Backrest

I had been looking around Craig'slist and ebay for a driver's backrest and was about to pull the trigger on a used Harley one when I stumbled across the Grasshopper website with backrests around $100 hardware included. At the time they were only listing one for softails, so I called the company to see if they might have one that would fit my SG. As it turned out they had just introduced a touring model and were in the process of updating their website. Since they are located in Beloit Wisconsin, only several hours from my house, I took advantage of the warm fall weather we've been having in the Chicago area and took a ride up there. I've put about 500 miles on the bike since adding the backrest and I'm really pleased with it. Based on price and quality, I would definitely recommend these guys......

I have a back rest on both my bikes. Riding is so much more comfortable, I'd never ride without one again.

How adjustable is it? If I read right this will just add on to the existing stock seat bolts? Nice find OP

There was another thread over in the softail section that talked about this same backrest.

So far, I haven't read anything negative. Thinking about ordering one myself!

Thanks for the info, I just ordered one. I'll tell my "financial adviser" it's all on you!

Doesn't look like a great mounting system. I had the firehouse customs & had no complaints. I finally got mustang seats with backrests & never looked back.

The way the backrest mounts is my concern. From what I read it just bolts up to the existing 2 seat bolts. That seems to me that the backrest would put a lot of stress on the fender in that area.
