The Harley dealership charged him $1600.00 to fix it. Insult to humiliation
is that just for the belt or were other parts damaged and replaced?

Doesn't the entire primary have to be tore down and removed to access the drive pulley on the trans?

I would hope there's an easier way to slip a new belt back on the front pulley??

Those who have had to have it replaced what have you paid?

yeah I want that to put the power to the back wheel when I dump the clutch....

About $600.00. Parts, labor and fluids - everything ( except towing - covered ). Still could have been more $$$ being so far from home.
Primary chain case cover ( the outer one ) comes off, no deeper there - at least on my FXR.

You not only have to remove the primary but also have to drop the swingarm.

+1
The one I snapped was totally avoidable, I was showing my A$$, dumped the clutch at about 2500 RPM, the rear tire hopped, and then the belt snapped.

$600 sounds about right, IF I remember correctly mine was just over $500, had my nephew pick me and the bike up, took it to the closest dealer and was able to ride again that weekend (This happened on a Monday, Picked the bike up Saturday morning).

Agree with about 600.00 to replace a belt if don't do it yourself a belt alone anymore is around 200.00 unless lucky enough to find one on sale for a little less..

Back on Topic yes I have broken a belt being a smartass popped a wheelie on the sportster and slammed into 2nd gear and all I heard was a loud revving of the engine.. Adios Belt, was laying in the road behind me ..
