Unfortunately this is a fact of life. I discovered this went I replaced the stock seat on my StreetGlide. Sure wished I had the foresight to have put down some clear tape.

Yes they all scuff from Sporty to Touring. I put elec tape on the scuff marks. They did not get any worse.

THe stock seat and the Sundowner both wore into the paint on my 2007 SG. Because the wears are deep and the location of the wear, I am looking for a cool fender bib which will cover it up when I ride with the solo seat.

Try a mouse pad (or part of one) under the seat.

Unfortunately yes. And I've only got about 3000 miles on the bike. The seat is absolutely scuffing the shiz out of the tank, console, rear fender and even the tops of the side covers. The only consolation IS that when I put the seat back on I can't see it! However, if I switch out the seat for another style that might not be the case. Guess I'm stuck with this seat.
