I can't help thinking that once the bike was gone over with a fine tooth comb and all the creative JB Weld "fixes" were ground off, that it would be a pretty cool rat bike. A little rust, scratches and some stickers can be a nice alternative to the gleaming chromed out bikes you see every day. I'd make it safe and reliable and wouldn't touch the tins.

Now that the guy sees what needs to be done to it(and how much money it will cost) ive been given the opertunity to take it off his hands for a VERY cheap price. Were talking a 4 digit number starting with a 1...

Not really sure if i want to yet though. I know the rear exhaust valve is burnt, the same head that is pictured, as well as needing completely rewired, and countless (and i do literally mean that) other things.

"Just fix the damn thing like I asked you OK? The tail light works and the seat stays on with the Bungy! I got a ride to go on!"
LMAO.
That is not really a bike I would take to a mechanic, unless it is a last resort, which it may have been.
But if you are a mechanic, do the work you were contracted to and make the customer happy.
The bike in the photo, I would not touch.

Wow, that is amazing. Speed Freak I've got to give you props if you take that on. Haha. It's crazy after that the bike can still be, sort of, ridden. I must admit though, I have used JB Weld like substance on my Ironhead to fix someone's screw up, but the other option was to replace the cases which is going to happen someday soon. Great thread.

This is the kind of thing I think about when I read in here about some member that WANTS a Harley REALLY BAD,,,, but only can spend $3,000 on one....

If anything evey happens to their old bike they won't have any $$$ to fix it...
