Sounds like a strange project to me.

Let us know what you decide and if you do it post them pics!

The fact that it's shaft driven & oriented from front to back would be tricky. If you want a v-twin in a Ural maybe a Guzzi motor would be easier. They sound pretty sweet too.

They were designed as a reverse-engineered copy of a 30's or 40's BMW.

I'll bet more info is available on BMW's - so has anybody ever put a Harley engine in an old BMW?

Why would you purposely slow a Ural down and make it leak oil? LOL

You can make it fit but the frame is going need a lot of cutting and stretching to make it happen .

Rode a Ural around Moscow for a day it was different . Was going to try for the harley but at $1000 a day rental versus a guy let me use his Ural for $100 no contest . Wouldn't have mattered the damn Gyspy kids got my camera so no pictures to share for bragging rights anyway .

Made me think of an EVO with a Ural sidecar. Instead of a Ural with and EVO.

Now an EVO motor into a Ural you'd want to turn it sideways like a Moto Guzzi (sp).

I have a copy of a WWII BMW R75 frame I will sale you. Its a 1960s CJ750 NOS frame same as the early Ural since the early Urals, CJs and Dneprs are made on BMW tooling stolen from the Germans and moved to Russia then to China after WWII.
