Default WINTER's coming how cold do you ride and what do you wear.

Winter time is almost hear on the east coast. What is the coldest you have ridden in and what do you wear? For me I wear long johns and flannel lined jeans and 2 pair insulated socks of course with heavy leather jacket.
The coldest with wind chill was high 30's low 40's

Thermals everywhere possible and a good pair of lined gloves. A neoprene face mask does wonders keeping out the cold wind. I usually ride with a heavy weight hooded sweatshirt which does a pretty good job, but then again I'm not out doing a 100 mile ride. I can handle down in the low 30's but after that it gets put on the tender and covered until the temps come back up.

Lined jeans with long johns work. I usually wear a couple of layers of shirts to keep the heat in, Sweat shirt, head covering with a 3/4 helmet, heated gloves. Insulated boots with warm socks. The nice thing is if it gets warmer during the day, you can take some items off. I have left the house when it was 17 f. Who knows what the wind chill was at 65 mph. The key is to keep all your skin covered.,,

Tons of layers. I really want to get some heated gear this year if I can afford it.

Coldest so far has been 22 with a leather jacket and jeans with thermals underneath. Oh and some Wally World brand gloves.

So far 23 if I feel pretty sure there is no ice wearing heated gloves and vest, long undies, and always a helmet.

As long as its dry riding shorter rides less than 100 miles I don't mind riding in the lower 20's. Polartec thermals under jeans and sweatshirt with leather as the final layer. Good lined gloves that block out all wind.

I have some gortex socks which I wear over my wool-blend socks.
It has been in the flat fifties here until now. Tomorrow ( and onward ) high forties during daylight.
Those gortex socks work great, short of electric socks.
And I use them canoeing, with sandals after hiking in cold weather and on and on.
One set of socks with many uses.
Coldest riding? Thirty something degrees for 300 + miles, in April , in freakin' TEXAS.

I have ridden as low as 28 degree air temperature. Legs and feet don't get cold since I bought chaps. Long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, and my leather jacket. Hot packets in the gloves if it is below 40 degrees. If I could get some nice heated gloves, it would be much more comfortable.
