Just keep looking... You will never know when the right bike will just show up. I bought my latest one while visiting family in KC & had it shipped home.

You can't be completely suspect that everyone is out to scam you. I was selling stuff through my girlfriends account because I didn't have one. Instead of bidding, just take your cash and drive to the bike. Talk over the phone with their lender and find out the payoff. Communication is the key here. If the loan balance is $8500, then find out what the sellers plan is. Don't email. Talk one on one, be it on the phone or in person. Then write up a bill of sale. If they can end the auction, then have them do that. Trust your gut, if they seem shady then walk. There are other bikes out there.

Default Bike buying

Glad it is all working out for you. But be careful of that "settling for" stuff, its dangerous. It is better to wait and find the one you really want. If you just get one that you settled for, I can guarantee that down the road every little thing that goes wrong will be blown up and some new vocabulary words will be said and you will end up hating the bike and selling it at a fire sale. So wait, look and get the one you really like. Just my $.02 Happy hunting!

Before I bought my WG, I found a Fatboy on Ebay that was real nice. I contacted the seller and he wanted me to send part of the money and we would arrange shipping. I said that I am just 1 state over or about 400 miles, I would just drive over, check out the bike and pay in full on the spot then trailer it home. He wouldn't go for it and wouldn't return any more of my Emails. I reported it to Ebay. Bottom line is this, if it is too good to be true than it likely is.

Without a valid title, all the above is worthless.
