Angry Can't get windsheild clean

Got a windsheild off e-bay has a wax like film on it I can scratch off a tiny bit here and there. Used lemon pledge, windex and novus 1 still not getting film off. Any suggestions?

Have you tried Windex? Pretty good at getting gunk off most glass and plastic items.

Try some 100% Carnuba car wax.

Wax on
Wax off

Try rubbing it down with Dawn dish soap (not diluted), let it sit for a few minutes and clean off.

I always used quick detailer from Mothers/Meguiars on my windshields or windscreens, and they always come out great. They really cut the grim and dirt, but never scratch any surface.

What kind of windshield is it? Plexiglass? Lexan? Acrylic?

And how big is it?

Stock windsheild. Think its lexan. Tried the dish soap straight up. Still nothing. Like I said I can scrape with a finger nail so what ever is on there will come off.

The shields have a thin film of something on them that I believe is not intended to be removed. I had same thing with mine when I first got it...

I tried every solvent found in my garage, then finally decided that I was trying to remove the finish. I'll prolly see small micro cracks forming eventually. Read on the net that you are never supposed to use Acetone to clean them, but guess what? Even Acetone doesn't remove that film!

I prefer Novus products, they have 3 grades of scratch removers/polish. Try the finest (1) grade. It might be easier to find Meguires scratch-X which should work.
Do not use windex or anything with ammonia on a plastic windshield, ever.
