Something to watch out for.

That was my thought also when I first started reading this thread. It's my luck that there is sand or some other kind of debris in that turn off of the main thoroughfare.

You aint kidding! The wife and I went for a putt Saturday and going through some backroads I was on a nice curve and suddenly walnuts were all over the road from all the trees dropping them. That was a new one for me. I managed to doge em, but imagine it could've played havoc in my curve negotiation.

Good point, TalldogsFatBob. I've seen this numerous times.
Likewise, when I'm the driver of the car directly behind a motorcycle turning right, I'll always slow down and keep with the biker until he/she has completed the turn as a means of "protection", you could say, so the next car behind me doesn't slam into the biker.
One biker looking out for the other, whether on bike or in the cage.
You gotta have eyes in the back of your head - anticipation is everything.

true - but everytime i jump on the scoot to go for a country ride it's about 2 hours of urban warfare with "canned ********" everywhere ... ignoring the road or trying to push you around. There's just no short way, quick way, or easy way to get out of the metro area - its 10 miles just to get outside the beltway
sunday mornings are okay, but the problem is when you try to get back in to the district that evening ... spend about an hour in stop&go just waiting to get run over

I make a right hand turn every day into my development and I tend to stay more in the middle. Once in a while someone will go around me on the left but they have to cross into the opposing lane to do it, so it only happens once in a while.
Remember its not that they can't see you. They can see you and they are out to kill you. Always be alert for someone who is in more of a hurry than you are.
