Dunlop/Michelin
#3
I have wondered the same thing. I have already put 7,500 miles on my RKC. When I need to buy new tires I thought about putting metzler on the front because it's WW is lots cheaper than the dunlop.
I even though about going with metzler 880 WW on the front and a black one on the back as I never clean that one anyway. It is way too difficult for me to keep clean.

Thanks for the info.
The dealership....who I don't always like to deal with said...."You can, but they don't recommend it because the Dunlop is a radial and the Michelin isn't"....hmmm...that still doesn't answer the question...typical of the dealership...lol
This question is acutally from a guy friend of mine....I'm doing his dirty work for him...lol.
Thanks again,
Stacie

I'm sorry I always went from a bias tire with a bias tire (dunlop 401-metzler 880) And radial tires with radial tires. I'm sure someone else will be able to offer some more insight.

I think the question should have been " can you run a radial and a bias ply tire together.
I know with a car its doesnt work well. so I imagine the same would be true with a bike.
You can but the stability would be compromised.
On a bike, I would stick with one type of tire, either bias ply or radial, as a set on both front and back.
Who makes the tire becomes less important.

I ran a Michelin Commander on the back while wearing out the stock Dunlop up front. Around 10K miles. Both Bias Ply. When the stock Dunlop wore out I went with Dunlop Elite III's front and rear
