Wheelies on your Harley?

Wheelies on your Harley?
There are a couple of video clips in the video section of guys pulling wheelies on their bikes. One is a bagger, the other is a dyna or something. I can't imagine whupping on my bike that hard. I seriously doubt if it could do it anyway, even with 95", HTCC heads/pistons, 204 cam....I've never really cranked hard on it since the engine build, although I've noticed the 204 cam seems to build power alarming faster once you get into higher rpm ranges. I used to have a Kawasaki ZRX 1200r. I could wheelie that bike by just whacking the throttle open in second gear. It was a good sized bike, about 530 lbs with gas I think, but the center of gravity was much higher than on a Harley and the wheel base was shorter. I know you guys/gals probably aren't into wheelies much, I'm not either anymore, but I'm just curious what exactly these guys did to their bikes to get them to do that. Do you suppose that they are using the clutch to get the front end up, or is it all throttle? If it's all throttle, I'll be very impressed. Can a VROD wheelie with just the throttle, or does it just launch like a bat out of hell due to the low center of gravity?

my bagger wheelies in 2nd with a touch of clutch at 3500 fairly easy...wont do it in first cause the crap factory rubber just smokes, and wont throttle up....it comes up good enuff i believe i could get it to balance and ride it but havent pushed that hard yet

Right. I asked the question because I was curious about how they got that much power out of there bikes. Or if they were just frying their clutches. Thanks for your keen observation.

not sure about the Twin Cam but on the EVO's a set of 10 1/2 : 1 pistons just a bit of head work it dosn't take much and a good cam will have the front end off the ground or the back tire spinning going in to second gear if you get on it.

I used to have A 2001 ZRX 1200 & traded for my Nightrain one year ago. 112rw hp, 81 fpt. Top heavy & wheely prone is right.
I think the only advantage a V-twin has is the potential for TORQUE without a turbo. A 107" Zip kit might help. http://www.zippersperformance.com/
