1000 bucks??

I'm hoping when you say labor intensive its because all new cables etc have to be run....I'm wanting to just replace the stock RK bars with the Heritage style bars and I think the parts guy at my HD shop said it should be a couple of hundred bucks. That I can deal with.....1000 bucks is a different story

Keep in mind who the service dept customers mostly are these days, guys who buy 20k bikes and ride them on weekends. Service prices reflect that. God bless them, get every dime they can out of the those guys. I have friends who were living hand to mouth in the 70's and 80's with solid careers now because of yuppie enthusiasts.

Look at it like this, are YOU really customizing your bike if you buy something and have someone else install it? Make it truly yours, do the work yourself (with proper supervision until you are comfortable doing it solo, of course).

A dealer asked me 1500 to do them on my 91. They said it was very hard on that old of a model, with old style cables and wires. LOL. I'll keep the stock 10's.
