Default New Tires for my Deuce...

I need to put new tires on my bike. I toyed with the idea of the SE 180/17, but got a headache reading all the do's/don'ts, opinions & recommendations. Plus it's not worth an extra $100 to me to have a larger tire that may or may not rub.
So... I plan to replace my tires with std/fit. Now I notice that it's hard to match up tire 'models', having a 21" front & 17" rear. My question; what are you guys running on your bikes, and are there any recommendations? Your help would be greatly appreciated !!!

Default Tires

I just put new ME880s on my 2000 RKC and highly recommend these for cruising. I can't address the differnce in wheel size - I have 16 inch front and rear.

I ran Metzelers on several BMWs I had over the years & loved them (w/ exception to the LaserTec front). Have read few reviews on 880's & Harleys, & they were all good. Thanks, 2EZ !!

I put Metzler 880's on mine and been happy with the tires, not remarkable, but no problems with them in 4000 miles.

Avon venom in front, their sport touring tire on the rear (they don't make a 17' venom. the tread pattern is similar on the sport touring)

Have you considered the Dunlop E3? They have a better tread pattern than the stock Dunlops so you don't get that squirrely feeling when you go over cracks in the road and they are made with a softer compound and have better "gription". The Metzler's that I had (880) were very good in all conditions but they wore out too soon.
