How true. But then the Ducati 750 was no slouch, and it didn't have a frame made of rubber.

I wish Eric Buell the best. The challenge will be marketing, specifically building interest and awareness in the 1190RS sportbike among younger buyers.

He is independent of HD now. There is only one model which is not street legal. It is a pure racing machine.

1) HD had the say on what components goes into their bikes which was a Buell. Buy cheap crap, paint it red, and make it look fast. Eric has a long history of trying to compete. With HD and their corporate greed how could you ever think those bikes can compete. With this turn of events, maybe next your may be more interesting. The factory Buell team is at Road Atlanta now with Brad (an Ohlins Technician) preparing to do battle. I wish them well.

The new future of Buells may be quite a vision of these proposed bikes, if everything goes as planed it will have the absolute best suspension available. Not the specified factory look a like type (like the ones found on the Ducati) but real suspension! I wish the American factory and workers well and hope they find their way past the bank and back into competition.

To give you a perspective on this sport there could be as many as 10 bikes per rider all set up a little different prior to show time. The value on the great teams are in access of 1/4 of a million $ USD.

instead of taking the cushy position inside Harley-Davidson they offered him, founder Buell went off on his own, self-funding an AMA race team and continuing the development of his latest sportbike
I don't even know much of the story behind him leaving HD but after reading the above about him I like the guy

He was like screw that I want to build bikes not sit on my ***

good luck to him
Though I don't really like sport bikes much I always thougth the Beull's had a nice different look to them

I think Harley is the poorest managed company in the world today. I wish them and Buell good luck. If Harley had not strangled Buell, their bikes would have been much more successful. In my opinion of course. Noname

I'm wondering if the price of an "all out" sport bike as you claim to meet this standard could be competitive. The little rice bombers go for about $7,000 and there are last year's models and the year befores, all sitting there with lower prices. The all out Buell jobber would be probably $15 or $20,000 and not be competitive with one of the little rice crackers. jmtc
