I was in a Dealers in BC this summer and the Salesgirl told me that Harley had actually gone back to making some of their Leather Jackets in the US and showed me three different models that had the "Made in the USA" label. She understood from her contacts that this change was a) a policy change, b) going to be expanded to other products, c) the economics of shipping from China or India were not what they once were, d) US quality and quality control was better and e) Harley's marketing people felt there was a marketing value in it

I know the brembo brakes are foreign, and when i ripped into it to changed my clutch hub that exploded on me everything on the clutch was metric and most parts labeled "made in japan". The only thing labeled USA was the mainshaft bearing.

Kind of bothers me, as a huge part of me buying and staying with HD is to buy US products.
I wonder why would they make stock parts here and accessory parts there. Just thinkin'.....

Oh Canada, We're already paying a premium so.... no. I think there are lots of hungry folks here that would be happy to make the parts needed for at least the same cost.

Or own a a pan or older bike. And you can still find OEM?NOS stuff to keep it running and American made.
