Suck.

Been there man. I've gone to doing that kind of stuff in enclosed spaces to increase my chances of finding it for WHEN I lose one.

You have just contributed to the other 25,000+ Jesus clips in orbit that can collide with the space station , you will receive a letter from NASA later with the assigned number and orbital plot .

PS , I've a 5lbs kit full of assorted HD clips for this very reason and still won't have that one you lose after 9pm , Murphy's law .

That is why you have safety glasses on and hold a rag over it as you remove it.

I have a theory about what happens to thes objects as well as the tools you drop and can't find, even though you saw where they landed. I believe that the sound the object makes while striking the floor (which is the resonant frequency of said object) opens a tiny wormhole in the time/space continuum, projecting the object forward in time. This explains why hours/days later, you will find the snap ring, wrench, etc. laying on the floor in plain sight, in an area you searched a hundred times already.

That's my explanation, anyway.

I have no problem with that one. The little ones on the hand lever pivot pins though... I must own 40 of them, all in various spots in the shop. I keep a bunch in the little box now. And since I bought a handful, haven't sprung one yet.

Same thing happened to me changing out foot pegs, snap ring went fling. Found it a month later in a boot on the other side of the room.

I hope you were drinking some beer while doing this repair. Drinking some beer always makes these jobs easier and go better.

Wild Turkey American Honey.

Carol came into the house today and held up the damn snap ring. It had flown over 50' to land in the dirt under the porch.

My wife's comment. "Is this important?"
