Lightbulb Carb vs Injected

I am selling my 97 RK and I have had 2 calls asking if it is Carb or injected. When I say Injected they tell me they are not interested. WHat's the deal? Something I don't know about carbed vs injected. My Fatboy was carbed and was more sensitive than the injected.

Opinions? Facts?

Carb problems can be fixed yourself...EFI problems means a trip to the dealer.

It has the old Magnetti-Marelli injection system, rather than the newer Delphi. Many don't want to mess with one that old.

97's had the Magneti Marelli fuel injection which most people consider inferior. Most bikes with that type injection were converted to carb because of problems.

Not to hijack the thread, but aren't all 2007 and later Harleys fuel injected?

What does that have to do with a 1997 Road King?

The answer to your question though is yes

Yep, that is why I have a carbureted '02 heritage in my garage.... along with my '08 fuel injected heritage

If I could have bought the '08 with a carb I would have...

Doesn't have anything to do with a 97 RK. Has to do with my stupidity.... I read 07 RK. Sorry about that.

i shopped around for a carb'd fatboy, i didn't want fuel injected because i can do pretty much anything with a carb. they're very easy to work on and if you do happen to need a new one it's like $350.00 for a performance carb. efi can be an absolute bitch to fix and cost a fortune to diagnose and repair.

plus i happen to think a harley, sounds, rides, and just feels better with a carb. but that's just my opinion.
