Park mine in our WM lot often. Never an issue and I like parking next to the light poles giving a bit more clearance.

Possibly specific to that Wal-Mart.

oh please.... another parking ****.

if you notice, walmart has poles all up and down the parking aisles, they have these things on top of them, they're called 'lights'. they turn them on when it gets dark so that their customers can walk out to their cars and see where they are going. its also safer to walk to your vehicle in light rather than dark. these poles also make a good location for wireless surveillance equipment, wifi stuff, etc.....

If these alarms are that much of a problem I would unhook it and send it back to Harley engineers with a note to shove it up there a$$.

Harley dealer in Bend OR has the same problem. Parking lot is next to Bend Cable. You sometimes have to move a few ft to get started.

Boy oh boy I knew I'm a bit behind the times anymore on newer models but I had no idea it had become so ...... complicated to ride a bike anymore . Owners manuals to start ?, activation area's ? FOB's ? I don't mean any of this in a bad way I really didn't know ..

A similar thing happened to me when I parked right in front of a bank. Moved the bike about 12 feet where I normally parked and it started right away.

Having lost 2 Harleys (Houston and Califonication) and a 65 Triumph in the War Zone in Boston, I'll take any device I can get.
The one lost in Houston I tracked down and was arrested for nearly beat the SOB to death.

The subject of the thread is Walmart. I always park in the stripped zone and Walmart says it is OK. Some @$$hole jammed a shopping cart so hard in between the bike and a post, it lifted the 900lb bike off the stand. Review the tapes with the police this jerk was fined for the destruction of private property. But I had to push hard on county any state attorney generals off ice because of their attitude against bikers.
