How many things can you do that give you that feeling? Most people will never know, be grateful for that privilege.

I think it's because I enjoy riding so much I just put the pain aside .

Same here. Nothing works quite like a ride......

Different things do it to different people. There's a famous story of an ocean sailing racer, a single-hander (my favorite kind), who was on some kind of trans-Atlantic race. I think he was winning. Came to a point close to the end, and he suddenly, unexpectedly, changed course and just kept on sailing. I forget, I think he eventually died at sea. I've always identified with that feeling. It's a ... never mind the world, this is me now, feeling.

I've had it on a bike a few times. There's nothing quite like it....

I just made a 20 mile round trip to gas up. Almost took off for North Carolina just because it felt sooooo good to ride in the COOL for a change!*** I may do it yet.

i`ve been riding 45 yrs, and that feeling is rare, its like you ride into a black hole i love rideing all the time but this perticular night all the stars were in place, i would of rather been in that moment than be with a woman

It's happened to me. Seems to happen when I'm on my way home from work at night. I get off at 11pm and there is just something about the dark, less traffic, just the sound of the radio...I just want to keep going. I have yet to expierience that feeling during the day.

Ever read "Rabbit Run" by John Updike? Great book. Guy goes out for a pack of cigarettes and just never returns.

Or how familiar is this...

I got a wife and kids in Baltimore, jack
I went out for a ride and I never went back.
Like a river that don't know where it's flowing
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going.

Oh boy do I remember that adventure . Awesome night out but the ex was trying her best to ruin it told her I was going out for a beer to calm down , ended up having it at the Whistle Stop Saloon in Colorado 2 states away .

Women got no sense of humor about that kind of stuff for some reason ................
