saw a stranded biker

Dont take this wrong... but your probably someone who never had to stop and do some dishes or build a shed, or clear some land... (pick your labor) to make it from point A to point B. I havent been there for a number of years, but sometimes the hand of a friend (or fellow biker) makes all the difference in the world.
Good Job OP.

if the guy has no money how was he getting back to PA? how is he getting the bike fixed? it's probably going to cost him a couple hundred in repairs plus more for towing.
this is actually a rouse folks do in NYC all the time, they dress the part and tell some sob story to tourists about being from nebraska and having thier wallet stolen etc... they can make $500 or more a day but on some streets in NYC you have to pay for the privelege of panhandling so they do get picked up.
i'm a natural cynic and wouldn't have forked over money to him. i would've called a tow truck and pumped some gas in his tank but nothing more than that.

OP probably did the right thing.
But, I call scam on this as well. Scooter Tramps are a rare breed these days. And, any scooter tramp with any experience at all pretty much knows where help is no matter what state he is in.

Stopping for someone to help them out is right from the good Book. I'm +1 with ba balu with this one. There was a recent thread herefrom a member about stopping out west to help out a sranded biker in nearly the same condition. The biker turned out to be a prospect for a local club. The stranded biker preferred cash to help out his situation. I would have probably stopped also and assist in material to get him back on the road. You did good just by stopping to help out.

not to be a *****, but the majority of people are good natured. (i am not one of them) however the cycle of poverty indicates that many people spend what money they have as soon as they get it. The dude probably had money when he got paid and shot the entire role at one place. OP, you did a GREAT thing. I understand that we cannot help all those that ask, but anytime you help a guy you think needs it you are doing the right thing.
