Who says the youth of American these days doesn't have any common sense!?!? Good to see the astute news media points out this young lad was wearing his helmet.
Wondering what the speed at impact was to plow that deep into the van?
Bones

Bike or not , think about this way when your in that little cage feeling all safe that minivan folded like a bad deal at the poker table . If a bike can do that kinda damage whats a 6000lbs pickup truck going to do to it ?
As for the rider of that bike , it will make you believe God really does protect idiots .

Guy did this with a Hayabusa. The riding position probably saved his life -- at least for now.
Don't try this at home kids...

As soon as I saw the picture, before I read the article, I knew it probably was a crotch rocketeer riding at high speed at night. Riding so fast he ran into the back of a vehicle. Seen it before and will probably see it again, unfortunately. Riding at high speed at night is a death wish.

What you have to remember is that the mini van was traveling in the same direction as the biker, and was reportedly traveling at 65 MPH. If the bike was doing 95 MPH then the impact would have occurred at 35 MPH. The damage to the van suggests an impact in the 70+ MPH range, so I would guess the bike was probably traveling at 140 MPH plus. That's crazy!
I am an insurance investigator. I handled another loss last year with a crotch rocket traveling at approximately 100 MPH in a downtown area approaching an intersection. He was riding a black bike, at about 12:30 AM, all dressed in black, doing a wheelie when he hit our Insured. The Insured could never see him, his headlight was pointing toward the sky. Stupid or what?
