Default Removing exhaust wrap....how easy/hard is it?

Just that...I'm just not keen on it at all, hows it done if its glued ect.....how bad a mess does it leave on the pipes and how easy/hard is it to get it off....anyone did it?

I'd rather have chrome than that stuff...

I doubt they will fall apart ( although access to some new pipes a bit rapid
would be a good idea just in case ) they may well look a mess and be hard to clean up.

Unfortunately, pipe wrap does leave a huge mess underneath. The pipes will need to be re-coated, if salvageable. I recommend ceramic coating. Good luck!

Cut the straps, unwrap,(not glued) you may find rust you may not. There is a paint sold that helps make the wrap resist moisture, and color it.Some use it some don't.

yeah cut the metal straps that hold it on, there is no glue, although you do install it after it soaks in water but thats just so when it dries it will be as tight as possible around the pipes. As far as condition of your pipes underneath....well like stated before me you better order your new pipes before you tackle this cause you most likley wont be happy with what you find...most guys use heat wrap to cover up pipes that are in rough shape in the first place, its VERY easy on the wallet...I have replaced my wrap once since I bought my HD its very easy to remove/install. If you like the black pipes look then I suggest getting some of the paint mentioned earlier.

Yes you can. Just cut the wrap and undo a couple of inches to have a look.

How difficult is titanium wrap to remove? I got an extra set of pipes that came with my bike when I bought it and they are wrapped with titanium wrap. I've read online that titanium wrap isn't designed to be removed once it has been installed but don't know if that's true or not. I'm wanting to remove it and re-rap them with a different color.
