Watching the news this evening, a news story about a M/C police officer in Florida who was riding in traffic while reading text on cell phone.
Police chief said cop would not be reprimanded, as it wasn't a "safety issue". REALLY??????

Any different than looking at the tank to see your speed? Just asking.

 

A little cuz looking at your tank is a glimpse- reading a text or texting is a WHOLE lot longer!

 

Agreed. I really don't like the speed-o location sometimes. Of course I wear a "Darth Helmet" as my BIL would say.

I have pulled my cell out of my shirt pocket while rolling down the hw, and by just pushing 1 button, can see my latest incoming text messages.

Is merely reading them that dangerous? Probably not, depending upon road and traffic conditions. But, if he was texting BACK while riding? Yea....that's even dumber than texting while driving a car.
