Hopefully you'll get in to see the Doc about that soreness. Might seem slight now, but 6 months down the road it could come back and haunt you.

Like the rest glad your okay---sounds like you didn't expect it to happen. I never quit watching my mirrors and I watch them close whenever someone is coming up behind me. I have had to get out of the way twice to keep from getting hit from behind. If I hadn't been watching my mirrors I would have been nailed. Spacing and vigilance is better then a broken back any day.

Glad you're OK.
My understanding is that motorcycle accident investigation requires the "wearing a helmet", or "not wearing a helmet" box be checked. These statistics are felt to be important for NHTSA, insurance companies, etc. So if you told the officer you're OK except that your neck hurts a little, it'll be interpeted by NHTSA that "there was a rider injured not wearing a helmet". Even if the additional weight from a helmet would have caused *more* of a neck injury.
(Seatbelt statistics are accumulated this way also.)

Glad you were ok and there was minimal damage to your ride.

If he was wasted or high...there a good chance suing him will do no good unless he had insurance which is doubtful...

Probably not a bad idea to retain a lawyer anyway.

You can always alter your plans in the future, but IMO it's unwise to make plans based on speculation and guessing. The guy may have a trust fund. You don't know anything about him, his financial situation, or his issues. You only know he smacked into you - apparently while he was sick...might also have been on serious medication.

Glad to hear that your injuries at the moment are minor. The bike can be replaced, but you can't - so glad you are still with us.

Most would be surprised at how many % drive without insurance or with suspended license.

I know some LEO's and around here, 20-30% of there stops shouldn't even be driving and thats besides the drunks and druggies.

At first I thought that following the beat down of said driver, the ambulance was needed. But not the case this time. Sounds like he deserved one, tho.
Good luck on recovering damage claims to your ride.

what kind of "minor" damage can you have after coming into contact with a truck?
