Ride Your Own Ride
#72
What a story! Good to hear the follow-up, and the details.
I admire (somewhat) the guys whose "'ole lady" can handle a bike on her own.
My wife and I started riding together back when I was only 17, some 34 years ago. She could never handle a bike on her own, and doesn't want to be anywhere else than in the passenger seat. Really enjoy having her "on-board".
I'll admit it takes a lot more effort to handle my Tour Glide when she's there, and I wear down a little faster too. But if last summer (our first with the bike) was indication of the future, we'll be solo and traveling at lot more. For her a good ride is a couple of hours at a time. Helps me too.

I ride alone most of the time, but I have a couple friends I ride with sometimes, actually, one of them is my daughter and rides on the back of her mans bike, I have tried bigger groups and they make me nervous, we are not out to race like some, we like to take our time and enjoy the ride, stop when we feel like it, hope your wife is on the mend and her bike gets fixed soon!!

wow, lucky she wasn't seriously hurt! Our group and others I have ridden with put the "blockers" as we call them at the FRONT of the group. As their assigned intersection comes up, they pull out and block the road. This way they do not have to race passed anyone. Then they pull in behind after the last bike has gone by. Works well and is a safe method so far.

geez I better not let my wife see this thread, she just passed her MSF course. this may scared the crap out of her.
But in all serious I'm glad to hear your wife is ok and beating the sh*t out of those clowns would have been the right thing to do, it wouldn't be worth the trouble you wind up in because they going running to the lawyers and police.
once again glad everything is ok with your wife ( sweet ride she's got)

Glad she's okay. Some people get crazy when riding with a group. Maybe something to prove. I don't ride with some members of my own family because of that. If I wanted to scrap my knees going around curves I wouldn't be on a Harley.

Great Post, Glad to hear your wife is OK.
I like group riding alot until the part "I only knew 4 riders well". The rest is a mob.
Rides like you described makes me appretiate the group that I do ride with.
