if you had only one rally you were allowed to go to

Having thought about the original post from PaulC for a few minutes, and being from another location "around the globe" from the USA myself, I take the concept of his statement about "permission" in a humorous sense similar to the Aussie way to say "lets go for a ride-- I've got a 'leave pass' from the missus".
Just meaning one has had discussion with his or her "significant other" about doing something outside of the concept of "doing it together". You can say "I'm going for a ride" as a statement but still mention to mates that you have a 'leave pass' or "permission".
Tongue in cheek stuff....

well if its so hilarious i suggest you laugh about it and stop being a dck.
another thing you wont find at smokeout is dcks.
I dont care how many toys you got. all i care about is if you rode your bike to the event and if you're interested in being part of the party. if our brand of fun doesn't appeal to you feel free to visit any one of the 9 billion bike rallies that aren't smokeout.

If over there means you are coming from Europe?, pick Sturgis, start on the East coast and ride across the country, camp at Buffalo Chip, great party. We do Sturgis every 3rd year, takes us 5-6 days riding to get there from our part of Canada but it's a great ride.

Hog Rock is only about a 3-4 hours drive from my house and an hour or so from my mother's or brother's houses. The fall rally is in a couple of weeks. Is it pretty good? I just don't find myself having a lot of "rally" motivation - I don't drink and crowds and cover bands are among my least favorite things. What else makes it worth going?
