Found a place for the bike, Solved Rust Risk?
I've posted my concerns about my bike being near the beach before and I decided the risk was to great to save on gas. However, I found a 24/7 climate controlled storage less than 4mins from my house. I think this would be perfect I could use my bike all of the time except for my ride to work. My question is does a climate controlled storage 100% protect you and if your bike is sitting outside of your house which is about 5 blocks from the beach for a few hrs, does that cause a problem as long as its stored in the climate controlled environment at night? Thanks, I think I found a godsend with this storage being 24/7 and, so close by. Just wondering if it takes a few days of constant dew mornings for rust to start to become a problem in the salt air environment and I hope this is the case and keeping it outside until I drop it off at night would be safe.

Dunno if the climate control solves the problem @ your house, but if they are controlling the humidity and things like that it is better than outdoors.

Outside near the beach isn't ideal for sure. Outside near beach sitting in rain uncovered is worse. Outside near beach getting dew on it every night isn't good. Sounds like you solved most of your problem. The Air Force has a chart they use to protect the metal on their expensive jets based on climate zones and proximity to water/ocean. The guidelines in humid climates close to salt water call for more freqent washes for corrosion control. Wash often, dry well, and keep her glossed and you wont' have a problem.
