We Failed...

Nice job and congrats to both of you. I loved the Seeley lake rd coming home from Glacier. You are very lucky to live where you do. Also thank you for your service to our country. You deserve your retirement.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Dude,
The only failure would have been if you got up and saw it cold and rainy and went back to bed. You went out and gave it a great try and stopped for safety reasons. No shame in that. Now yo know how hard it is and what you can change to make it easier or better. I'd be interested in heearing you rthoughts on that as I am contemplating one myself.

I've found that it's better to go with the flow and have no plans. If I get a weather window and time window, I'm off for a long ride (maybe not 1,000 miles.) If I got a long ride planned and I wake up and it's blowing like snot and raining and cold, I'll just go back to bed. The ride is supposed to be fun, not some sort of torture test. My $.02 you guys did quite a bit of riding for the conditions, so it's only a failure if you didn't enjoy it.

So if you had fun on your ride, I agree with the above commenters. That's what really matters. You've got the heart; you'll get the cert someday for sure. Kudos to the wife for her unusual feat!

That Treasure State wind about now is not fit for mortals on 2-wheels....You beat the odds by making it home alive!!! I'll have a cold beer in honor of your accomplishment!
