Thanks everyone! We both had a good time. It was a bit of a bummer to not make the 1000 miles but with the cool temps we had to stop and thaw out quite a bit, get some coffee, etc.

Here is a link to some photos if y'all are interested... http://copester.net:4763/coppermine/....php?album=119

I told the wife we should at least get her a Dyna before the ride but she was bound and determined to do it on her Sporty to show how tuff she is... I don't give her too much guff... hehehe

A few more miles that second day, and you could have got a BunBurner 1500 !

Good luck on your next one.

1) You have a wife that rides.
2) You have a wife that loves to ride like you!
Win Win...and the miles were very very respectable.....

Congrats on your (yalls) effort!!! You've got yourself one tough woman. Thankfully you guys had sense enough to call "no joy" and pull up. Better to live to try again another time!!!

Think of the positive.....You don't have to spend the bucks to get the certificate and plastic license plate frame !

You almost had it, good luck on the next try, I'm sure you'll do it now that you have an idea what it takes.
By the way I did my first saddlesore 1000 on my 883C Sporty hopped up to a 1250 and it was a blast. I know what your wife means, it just makes it a little more fun and challenging doing it on a bike that isn't set up like a mini van. .

The way I see it, you set out to ride and ride you did! No small feat riding in the COLD and RAIN! CONGRATS! Glad to see people riding in the weather!

Good effort. Sounds like the weather didn't cooperate.
