Default Nightster springer seat

I have a 2008 nightster and looking to put a springer seat on. The problem I am having everyone is telling me that their is a hole in the rear fender for ecm. Once the springer seat goes on that you will be able to see the hole. Is this true? Also told that 2010 Nightsters don't have this hole in fender. Any Ideas other then replacing the fender? Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier to take your seat off and look?

+1. It only takes what, 2 minutes at the most to get the seat off. I can have my seat off in 30 seconds.

Yes you have a hole in the rear fender to accommodate the ECM. Most spring saddles come with a plate that covers the whole but you will have to reloacte your ecm.

Thanks thats what I thought. I don't like the look of that patch over the hole. I believe I can purchase a 2010 Nightster rear fender and they don't have the hole in them.

Here is my 07' Nightster with springer seat. I bought it like this. Shop here in SC did the work. Said that the ECM will show. Shop had to do some custom work.

I like it. Its nice and clean.

Looks good. Do you know if that is the original rear fender? I have found some kits that put the ecm under the seat similar to that. How do you like the springer seat?
